Privacy Policy
This website, ladyinredtravels.com, is owned and operated by Lady In Red Travels, Inc. (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific to how we actually work.
If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise any of the rights described below, email us at kristine@ladyinredtravels.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us. We offer travel planning and booking services. When you contact us through the contact form on our site, by email, or by other direct messages, or when you work with us, you may send us information such as:
- your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address;
- traveler details needed to make bookings, such as names as they appear on travel documents, dates of birth, and frequent-traveler numbers;
- your travel dates, destinations, budget, and preferences;
- health, accessibility, or dietary needs that affect your trip, if you choose to share them; and
- payment details, if you share them in order to complete a booking.
Contact form. If you use the contact form on our site, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit so that we can reply to you. Your message is delivered to us by email through Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES).
Passport and ID numbers. We do not accept passport or other government ID numbers by email or through the contact form, and we ask that you do not send them. If a booking requires them, we will tell you how to provide them securely.
You decide what to send us. We only need what is required to plan and book your trip, so please share only what we ask for.
Information collected automatically. Our website does not have accounts or a newsletter, and we do not run advertising or marketing trackers on it. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate statistics such as how many people visit and how pages perform. According to Cloudflare, this service does not collect or use visitors’ personal data. Like any website host, Cloudflare also processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam and automated submissions, which checks information from your browser and connection for that purpose.
How we use information
We use the information you give us to:
- plan, book, and manage your travel and answer your questions;
- communicate with you about your trip, including changes and confirmations;
- keep records for accounting, tax, and legal purposes;
- protect against fraud and misuse and comply with the law; and
- understand overall website traffic so we can improve the site.
Who we share information with
Travel partners. To make your bookings, we share the information needed with the travel suppliers and partners involved in your trip, such as airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, transfer and car-rental companies, and travel insurance providers. These companies have their own privacy policies and handle your information under those policies once they receive it. We share only what a partner needs to fulfill your booking.
Service providers. We use providers that help us run the business and website, such as email and file-storage services, Amazon Web Services (which delivers contact form messages to us by email), and our website host, analytics, and spam-protection provider (Cloudflare). They may process information on our behalf only to provide those services.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety or that of others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. Our hosting and analytics provider may use limited technical data as described above to deliver and measure the site. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies, and the site will still work.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide our services and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. After that, we delete it or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your choices and rights” below), subject to records we are required to keep.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and our website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and email in particular is not a secure channel. For that reason, please do not send passport numbers or full payment card numbers by email or through the contact form. If we need sensitive details from you, we will tell you how to send them securely.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for a particular purpose, by emailing kristine@ladyinredtravels.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as the law requires.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. If you are in one of these regions, you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we process it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We process personal data where it is necessary to arrange the travel you request (contract), where you have given consent, where we have a legal obligation, or where we have a legitimate interest, such as keeping the site secure and understanding aggregate traffic.
Residents of US states with privacy laws. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, to correct or delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You can make a request using the email address above.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our travel partners and service providers operate. If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to countries whose data protection laws differ from yours. We transfer your information only as needed to arrange your travel or with your consent.
Third-party websites
Our site may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before giving them your information.
Children
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last Updated” date below. If we make a material change, such as adding a newsletter or new tracking tools, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
Governing law
This policy and your use of this website are governed by the laws of the State of New York, U.S.A.
